WWI Brunton Transit Pocket Compass by T.F.Wiesener c.1914, Captain A. Sanderson was a member of the Australian Mining Corps (A.I.F) during World War I. He was a tunnelling expert who served with distinction on the Western Front. he later became a Major and was awarded the DSO and MC with Bar.
